Tangotrio Villena Yulzarí Sleking consists of bandoneonist Victor Villena, guitarist Kay Sleking and contrabassist Remy Yulzari. The trio plays new compositions and makes a bridge from tango to contemporary classical music, without losing the melancholy and rhythm of traditional tango.
Argentinean Victor Villena, who lives in Aix en Provence, is a beloved musician with an international career. In addition to solo programs with performances by, among others, Piazzolla and Ginastera, he performs worldwide with Ute Lemper.
Amsterdam based guitarist Kay Sleking is a teacher at Codarts, plays internationally with various musicians and is one of the organizers of TangoJazz Land. Sleking was laudate for his master exam and plays the double bass and bandoneon alongside guitar.
The Parisian contrabassist Remy Yulzari is one of the few double bassists who received an invitation for a post study at the Julliard School in New York. His specialty is klezmer and his fantastic technique, which is accompanied by a great musicality.
